Job DescriptionArcadis is seeking a talented Civil Engineering Designer for our growing London office. Working within our Design & Engineering teams, you'll create some of the world's most iconic and ground-breaking structures and spaces that transform the world around us, from making journeys easier to opening public places that bring people together.
We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today's mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world's growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.
Role Accountabilities:
- To function as a civil designer on various infrastructure projects with a focus on detail design for municipal/linear infrastructure projects
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads
- Preparation of preliminary and detail design covering all facets of Civil engineering
- Coordination with CAD standards group to maintain standards
- Design coordination with other design disciplines
- Assist junior and intermediate designers with design and software questions
- Promote a high level of quality in all design
- Bachelor's degree or College diploma in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, or Engineering Technology with a focus on Transportation or Municipal
- 5+ or more years of experience that includes technical and business development experience in road design, municipal and civil engineering and transportation planning
- Experience in managing small projects and studies would be welcome
- Ability in AutoCAD and CIVIL3D at an advanced level is required; additional skill would be beneficial
- Municipal geometric design standards and GIS is beneficial
- Must possess a collaborative attitude in working with other members of a road and transportation team
- Must be able to work independently with direction and supervision provided as needed based on the complexity of the assignment(s)
- Must demonstrate an ability to work within established timelines, and within project budgets
- Must be able to visit the site physically if it will be required.
- Must have knowledge about road and infrastructure construction projects
