The Role:
Canco is currently seeking a Gas Attendant to join our team at our Orillia Canco location. We are looking for an individual with exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities!
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers, answer questions, and aid with fueling, car wash services, and other inquiries.
- Attendants need to follow safety protocols when handling fuel, including the use of safety equipment such as gloves and safety glasses.
- Cleaning fuel pumps, fuel islands, restrooms, convenience store and any other customer areas. May also pick up litter around the station.
- Stay informed about and adhere to all safety regulations, environmental regulations, and industry standards related to fuel dispensing and gas station operations.
- Will need to respond to emergencies, such as fuel spills, fires, or medical incidents.
- Keep records of fuel sales, transactions, and inventory levels, as required
- Update the price displays and ensure accurate pricing at the pumps.
- Restock supplies such as windshield washer fluid, paper towels, and other automotive products.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies are running low.
- Processing payments from customers, including cash, credit/debit cards, or mobile payments.
- Operate fuel pumps, including how to reset pumps, handle different fuel types (e.g., gasoline, diesel, ethanol blends), and monitor fuel levels in underground storage tanks.
What You Bring:
- Previous experience in customer service role or retail.
- Experience in petroleum or convenience stores is preferred.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 30 pounds).
- Accurate cash handling and the ability to use point-of-sale (POS) systems.
