The Fund Development and Special Events Coordinator will play a significant role in contributing and growing the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation's main revenue stream. This role will create and foster relationships within the community to fundraise and support the Foundation's monetary goals. The Fund Development and Special Events Coordinator will provide the highest level of customer service, relationship management, and must enjoy working independently. They will provide leadership to all Foundation events, including securing corporate sponsorship and support. They will have a large focus on marketing efforts by preparing proposals, reports, and fulfilling ad hoc requests.

Execute with Excellence:

  • Event Leadership: Lead all key Foundation events such as donor breakfasts, Riderville donor recruitment, Grey Cup Olympics luncheon, Winter Classic, Pigskins and Punchlines, Plaza logistics committee, and any new initiatives.
  • Campaign Leadership: Lead three annual campaigns with support of Marketing Content Coordinator.
  • Third-Party Event Oversight: Take responsibility for the planning and successful execution of third-party events.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all events, campaigns, and partnerships uphold the Foundation's quality standards and align with brand guidelines.
  • Foundation Lottery Support: Assist the Executive Director in managing the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation Lottery.
  • Comprehensive Fundraising: Provide support in developing, executing, and administering fundraising initiatives for the Foundation.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the community team to craft a detailed service plan that supports donors and aligns with Foundation programs.

Strengthen Corporate Partnerships:

  • Ensure Benefit Delivery: Support corporate partners in tracking and delivering all agreed benefits.
  • Craft Proposals and Reports: Prepare detailed proposals and comprehensive reports to effectively communicate value to partners.
  • Coordinate Online Auctions: Oversee the planning and execution of online auctions to maximize fundraising opportunities.
  • Build Lasting Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong, professional relationships with key donors and partners, ensuring ongoing engagement and support.
  • Prospect and Innovate: Identify and engage new clients, create innovative and tailored proposals, and fulfill donor requests to enhance fundraising efforts.
  • Manage Donor Data: Organize, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of all donor records, supporting data-driven decision-making.

Drive Impactful Partnerships:

  • Strategic Partnership Development: Lead the creation and execution of measurable, impactful partnerships by setting clear strategies, managing expectations, and ensuring contract fulfillment.
  • Maximize Sponsor Value: Collaborate with supporters, suppliers, and agencies to create and execute programs that amplify a partner's role in the community while meeting their business objectives.

Foster Strategic Relationships:

  • Internal Collaboration: Build strategic partnerships within the Foundation and Club departments to ensure alignment with the organization's brand and goals.
  • Corporate Partnership Support: Continue to support corporate partners in delivering all promised benefits, enhancing their experience and value.
  • Proposal and Reporting Expertise: Use your expertise to prepare compelling proposals and insightful reports that effectively communicate partnership benefits and opportunities.

Innovate and Engage:

  • Creative Partnership Solutions: Leverage industry knowledge and brand insights to strengthen partner relationships, offering innovative solutions that align with corporate and community goals.
  • Seize New Opportunities: Proactively seek out and seize new opportunities that will support the Foundation's mission and drive growth.

Measure and Report Success:

  • Track and Report ROI/ROO: Consistently track and report return on investment (ROI) and return on opportunity (ROO) for all partnerships, working closely with the sales team to demonstrate the value and identify new opportunities for partners.

Collaborate for Growth:

  • Activation Program Development: Research, design, and implement activation programs that align with corporate sponsorship goals and meet community needs.

Support and Attend Events:

  • Active Engagement: Be a visible, active presence at all Foundation events, reinforcing relationships with partners and stakeholders and demonstrating the Foundation's commitment to community engagement.
What's needed to be successful in this role?
  • Relevant experience: A minimum of 3 plus years in a business-to-business relationship role, ideally focused on event fundraising and event partnerships. Experience working for a charity is an asset.
  • Educational background: A completed Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Donor engagement proficiency: Comfortable working with donors at all levels, including corporate, individual, and event donors.
  • Detail-oriented and adaptable: Exceptional focus on detail, coupled with strong time management skills to excel in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. With the ability to deliver exceptional work while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Relationship-building expertise: Proven success in developing and nurturing relationships with donors, individual, corporate and events with well-established connections to local and provincial donors and prospects.
  • Outstanding communication skills: Exceptional verbal and creative writing abilities, with a sharp attention to detail and a deep understanding of how to effectively communicate across various platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Adept at fostering and maintaining relationships at all touchpoints, ensuring meaningful engagement with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and commitment: Willingness to accommodate irregular business hours, including travel, events, and meetings, with a clear understanding of the year-round nature of fundraising responsibilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills: Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization abilities, enabling success in a dynamic, multi-dimensional work environment.
  • Technical proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Pro and Canva is an asset.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and all Foundation events and some home game days, as needed.
