Forbes Bros is seeking multiple experienced Groundman Operators (full time, temporary) to support the operations team for our transmission line construction project in Ontario.

The Groundman Operator (full-time) will operate various machines such as Pressure Diggers, Dozers, Excavators, and Powerline pulling equipment on our project in Aiken, SC. The successful candidate will assist in providing manual labor support to ensure project deadlines are met in conjunction with instructions from the Construction Manager.

• Proficiently operate assigned heavy company equipment when assigned
• Ensuring safety and quality is at the forefront of every task
• Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
• Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required
• Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
• Advise the Public Works Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs
• Participate in routine maintenance
• Participate and engage in daily Tailboard meetings, identify hazards and assist in crew compliance to safety policies and regulations
• Adhere to safety protocols and policies as outlined
• Work with construction equipment such as compactors, shoring, core drills, various hand tools
• Ensure cleanliness of sites by routinely removing garbage and other debris
• Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned

What We Are Looking For:

• Class 1 or 3 with air brake endorsement is preferred
• Minimum one (1) year construction experience, is required
• Ability to recognize site hazards and implement hierarchy of controls to eliminate hazards with crew members
• Able and willing to work in field/site with travel and work hour flexibility to accommodate to remote/site work schedules
• to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting
• Able and willing to present an acceptable five (5) year drivers abstract upon employment
