- Oversees the operation of the facility, performing duties such as:
- Open, close and secure building,
- Operate facility within standards of practice set out by the City of Woodstock,
- Maintain a clean and safe facility,
- Oversee the daily delivery of registered and drop-in programming,
- Oversee the proper use of facility by user groups and rentals,
- Deal with customer service issues that arise,
- Ensure financial practices are followed,
- Complete and accurate entries and maintenance of facility logbook.
- Verify assigned work has been completed,
- Ensure schedules are followed,
- Mediate issues and conflicts between staff and public,
- Verify cash receipt totals and balances,
- Arrange staff replacements for call-ins.
- Makes decisions regarding registration, facility operations and rentals.
- Refers problems or inquiries to Manager Facility Operations Cowan Park Sportsplex when necessary.
- Directs emergency procedures.
- Notifies management of any non-routine events as soon as possible.
- May lead programs, support customers at front desk, clean the facility and support set up/take down for programs and events.
- Qualifications must always remain current.
- Works with minimal supervision.
- Required to attend all in-service training sessions.
- Help facilitate staff training.
- Responsible for evaluating programs using the HIGH FIVE Quest II evaluation tool.
- Responsible for managing programming and delivery.
- Communicates respectfully and pleasantly with the public, including interacting with children in an age-appropriate way.
- Assist staff with registration and administration duties. Knowledgeable on software.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must have or attain HIGH FIVE: Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification
- Must have or attain HIGH FIVE: Quest 2 Certification
- Must have or attain certification Standard First Aid with CPR and AED Certification
- Experience Supervising
- Comfortable working with computer software such as Microsoft Office
- Experience with Perfect Mind Software considered an asset
- Minimum 2 years' experience working in a recreation environment
- May be exposed to cleaning chemicals
- This position requires standing, walking, and performing physical tasks for extended periods of time
- Must be available to work early morning and late evening hours, including weekend shifts
- Hours of work will not exceed forty-eight (48) hours in a two week period in accordance with the C.U.P.E., Local 1146 – Inside Part-time Unit collective agreement.
