MAINLINE EXCAVATOR (HOE) OPERATOR :
Hill Plain Strategic Partner Cochrane Dirt Works is seeking multiple experienced hoe operators to assist with the Mini Thni Townsite Watermain Project.
The project is nestled in the beautiful foothills and provides clean drinking water to the members of the Stoney Nakoda Nations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Must be able to operate an Excavator and safely excavate around utilities and mains.
  • Complete daily preventative maintenance checks on equipment.
  • Read grade plans and understands grade stakes.
  • Be able to meet or beat productions.
  • Behave in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves, their co-workers, and others on the work sites.
  • Assist other employees when required.
  • Reports incidents, injuries, and near misses and participates in the investigative process.
  • Behave in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves, their co-workers, and others on the work site.
  • Refuse and reports unsafe work, unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries, and near misses to the supervisor and participate in the investigative process.
  • Attends and participates in toolbox and safety committee meetings as scheduled.
  • Comply with established company policies and procedures and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 5 years experience as an Excavator Operator.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operations and site activities.
  • Underground utility experience is preferred.
  • Construction Safety Training System (CSTS2020) Certification,
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment (excavators/loaders)
  • Must have own transportation to travel to job site.
  • Self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong work ethic with demonstrated dedication and reliability.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Must be able to work as a member of a greater team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be available to work long hours including evenings and weekends during the project
  • Must have CSA-approved safety boots.

WAGES:
  • Pay will be in line with experience ($35-$45/hr)
  • Full time employment

  • Job site is 30 minutes west of Calgary
  • Job site is 50 Minutes west of Airdrie
