Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Oversee the delivery of occupational therapy services across our Nanaimo and Courtenay locations, providing supervision and mentorship to Behavioural Interventionists (BIs) for best practice implementation.
- Program Development: Design and implement evidence-based therapy programs that meet the unique needs of clients with autism, monitoring and evaluating effectiveness.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with a diverse team of professionals, including speech-language pathologists and psychologists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Client and Family Support: Establish strong relationships with clients and families, providing education, resources, and regular updates on progress.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, participating in program audits and implementing continuous improvement.
- Community Engagement: Advocate for autism awareness and services, promoting our programs within the community and forming partnerships with local organizations and schools.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, specifically working with pediatric populations and autism spectrum disorders.
- Previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative team-oriented approach.
- Eligible for the Registry of Autism Services (RAS) or committed to pursuing this recognition.
