Roteq Machinery Inc. is an engineer-to-order company specializing in conceiving, designing, and manufacturing of rotating equipment for the wire and cable, umbilical, flexible pipe, and hose manufacturing industries. Our projects are customized for our diverse customers resulting in a machine designed and manufactured specifically for the application. Roteq Machinery's projects span the full range of rotating equipment including armouring, stranding, cabling, taping, and includes auxiliary equipment for complete production lines.
Here's what you will do as Technical Sales Engineer:
The Technical Sales Engineer drives sales and revenue growth across Canada and the U.S. by developing customized wire and cable solutions that meet our customers' needs. Leveraging technical expertise, the Technical Sales Engineer will provide valuable technical sales support, working closely with clients to understand their business objectives and technical requirements. Through this consultative approach, the Technical Sales Engineer will translate customer needs into effective Roteq solutions, showcasing the unique benefits of our products and establishing strong, lasting partnerships.
  • Generate net new profitable revenue to achieve and surpass individual and team revenue objectives;
  • Identify opportunities in the market and develop sales strategies for target accounts;
  • Execute and develop new customer relationships through prospecting, understanding the customer requirements, and closing sales. Manage relationships with existing customers;
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting, quoting, follow up, negotiation, order intake, customer coordination, to final payment receipt;
  • Interpret customers complex technical needs and deliver understandable business solutions;
  • Create and deliver customer proposals coordinating with key internal stakeholders to develop the proposal strategy and solution;
  • Complete error free customer order paperwork and required documentation to facilitate the smooth processing of customer orders according to established internal procedures;
  • Provide a high level of customer satisfaction and service through effective and timely responses to customer requests and queries for technical information, pricing, delivery, and service;
  • Provide application engineering support and technical education to customers and prospects;
  • Visit customer sites and attend industry trade shows and exhibitions when required;
  • Update and submit standardized reporting, as requested by management on areas of focus such as but not limited to calls made, prospects, funnel status, etc.;
  • Maintain strong cross-functional relationships within the company to maximize the customer's experience;
  • Provide feedback to management regarding customer needs, competition, and market trends;
  • Support and initiate continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned for the overall benefit of Roteq.
Here's what you'll need to be successful:
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree (preferred) or engineering technologist diploma;
  • Degree in Electrical, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. Professional Engineer designation or eligibility preferred;
  • 5+ years industrial experience as an Operator, Maintenance, Manufacturing/Production Engineering, Plant Manager, preferably in wire and cable manufacturing;
  • 3+ years technical sales experience;
  • Technically minded, with a broad knowledge of wire and cable products;
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite;
  • Self-motivated and driven to seek out new sales opportunities;
  • Results oriented with the ability to open doors at the executive level, and develop strategic plans and solutions to address complex customer needs;
  • Ability to propel and maintain cross functional resources and relationships to deliver customized and valuable solutions for the customer;
  • Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders as well as cross-functional teams;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Strong desire to provide excellent customer service and support;
  • Ability to travel primarily within North America (20%) to customers and suppliers. Valid class G driving license with clean record. Ability to travel internationally.
