Scope of the Role:
As the IT Systems Administrator you will ensure that all employees have the technological tools and help necessary to succeed in their own roles. You will be responsible for configuring, maintaining and tracking all physical computer hardware owned by the company. You will help onboard new employees to ensure they have the tools needed to succeed, and offboard departing employees. You will be responsible for implementing end-user IT security measures including endpoint management, access management including SSO configurations, in addition to assigned IT projects. You will also be involved in configuring, maintaining, and managing the various subscription-based software platforms used by various business units. In addition, you will maintain the corporate wi-fi and meeting room infrastructure at our corporate offices.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Three days per week minimum onsite in our Kanata office
- Monitoring, coordinating, and resolving helpdesk tickets
- Identifying and executing IT-related functions for onboarding and offboarding
- Configuring laptops for employee use and ensuring all necessary software is installed and up to date
- Configure and maintain all employee laptops (Mac and PC)
- Inventorying, tracking, and maintaining all IT hardware used at the company. This includes laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, projectors, network equipment and other peripherals. This does not include the company's production systems which provide the infrastructure for DSR's own SaaS product offering.
- Manage and maintain office meeting room technical equipment
- Managing processes for having equipment repaired or replaced under warranty as needed
- Ensuring adequate supply of backup/replacement equipment in the event of failures
- Sourcing and making purchase recommendations for new hardware
- Proactively proposing improvements to IT processes
- Research, plan, and execute IT projects on time and in budget
- Help other business units by providing technical advice/consultation regarding their initiatives or issues
- Produce two types of clear documentation: 1. targeted for end-users and 2. targeted for internal IT staff
- Establishing the expected life span for various office equipment and maintaining a replacement program
- Ensuring timely delivery of new or replacement equipment to staff as needed to minimize potential staff downtime
- Implementing and managing endpoint security configurations for computers and mobile devices
- Managing accounts for software and services purchased by DSR
- Configuring single sign-on to DSR's service providers. Experience configuring and administering Okta is an asset.
- Flexibility and the ability to adjust to changing requirements and timelines
- Extended periods of sitting/computer use

Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or substantially equivalent experience
- 2+ years' experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
- Comfortable with Mac and PC systems
- Excellent communications skills
- Strong focus on team dynamics and culture
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Client service oriented and responsive to user needs
- Strong problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Information Security/Cybersecurity certifications or experience
- Experience working in a regulated or compliance-governed setting
- Experience with Freshservice or other ITSM software
