We are currently seeking a Technical Sales Engineer / Proposal Manager to join our Ottawa based team!
What will you be doing?

  • Customer Relationship Management, serving as the primary point of contact for Customers Supply Chain/Buyers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor production schedules to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
  • Coordinate the efficiency and execution of Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs).
  • Customer order management, managing our interface with customers through the Supplier Portal.
  • Receive and process new/updated customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Generate and update sales orders in the system to drive internal processes.
  • Verify and coordinate the updating of purchase orders (POs and Sales Orders) with internal stakeholders.
  • Demand planning coordination, working closely with production, supply chain, and demand planning teams to communicate forecast and adjust for changing customer needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product availability and production capacities.
  • Chargeback Management, investigating chargebacks thoroughly to determine their validity.
  • Contest chargebacks that are found to be invalid, providing necessary documentation and communication.
  • For valid chargebacks, work with the production manager to identify root causes and drive internal process improvements to prevent future occurrences.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements to processes.
  • Proactively manage our scoring on the Supplier Scorecard and hold customers accountable for inaccuracies.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline order management and internal coordination processes.
  • Implement best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Technical Sales Support, providing technical expertise to support the sales process.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and product teams to understand product specifications and capabilities.
  • Assist in the development of sales proposals, presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to customers.
  • Identify opportunities for product improvements or new product development based on customer feedback.
  • Support the sales team with technical queries and pre-sales activities.
  • Sales & Business Development, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within existing accounts and new markets.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals.
  • Assist in the preparation of sales forecasts and targets.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote the company's products and services.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, production planning, and other internal teams to ensure alignment on customer demands.

What do we need from you?

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in sales or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, research, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a technical sales or customer technical account management role ideally in the aerospace or electromechanical industry.
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of electromechanical products.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and sales tools.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
