The industrial millwright will provide and support maintenance services across the plant to keep the production running to minimize downtime of the production machines.

Industry: Plastic Extrusion

Schedule: 12 hour continental

Responsibilities:

  • Install, examine, replace or repair machines on time
  • Maintain and repair pumps, including servicing and repair of pumps including, but not limited to, the following: impeller checking and repair/replacement, wear ring replacement, coupling, and motor/gearbox alignment, seal and gland packing adjustment or replacement, bearing replacement, oiling, and lubrication.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to equipment as required, including minor electrical repairs and welding.
  • Maintain logs and records about equipment performance and conditions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Adhere to the maintenance schedule/plan and make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, and service goals.
  • Maintenance, servicing and repair of various belt and screw conveyer systems including feed systems associated with industrial machines
  • Read and interpret drawings and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other possible electrical components
  • Maintain repair, test, and install electrical motors, hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
  • Use proper lockout/tag-out procedures when required

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A valid Industrial Mechanic / Millwright trade license (433A)
  • Experience working in the plastic manufacturing industry an asset
  • Willing and able to work rotational shifts plus additional overtime as required
  • Exhibit the ability to work in a challenging environment
  • Fabrication experience and ability to weld in all positions
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to work independently with minimum supervision, or within a team environment
  • Able to work rotating shifts to support a continuous operation
