Reporting to the Garage Maintenance Supervisor, the Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for working safely with all mobile equipment, heavy duty machinery, and diesel engines on the mill site. They will be a key player in a company-wide continuous improvement effort through daily use of troubleshooting and predictive, preventative maintenance strategies to maintain and repair our mobile equipment fleet.
You'll Do:
- Be a key player in a company-wide continuous improvement effort
- Troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, and perform maintenance work on machinery
- Undertake preventative and predictive maintenance program for equipment
- Utilize knowledge and skills to recognize opportunities for improvements and savings
You have:
- A valid Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification
- Heavy industry experience
- Commitment to working safely and creating a safe work place
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently with little supervision
- Experience with Cat equipment an asset
Compensation Package:
- The hourly pay rate for this position will follow the collective agreement between Unifor 1115 and Cariboo Pulp & Paper Company, which is currently $48.66/hour.
