Technician - Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain food manufacturing plant equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace pneumatic equipment such as hydronic and hydraulic seals, air compressors, pumps, hoses, and cylinders.
- Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment such as controls, proximity sensors, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, and timers.
- Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs.
- Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors, water heaters, water pumps, heat exchangers, evaporators, fans, and powered industrial equipment.
- Welding equipment such as frames, conveyors, package handling equipment, carts, and guards.
- Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door, or wall repair
- Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
- Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof.
- Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
- Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.
- Other duties as assigned.
Maintenance Technician / Mechanic Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
- Intermediate electrical experience and ability.
- Basic to intermediate welding experience.
- Basic to intermediate HVAC experience.
- Responsible, trustworthy, takes initiative and keeps busy.
- Ability to perform basic mental math
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to effectively work with others and as part of a team
- Refrigeration, warehouse, production or manufacturing experience preferred
