The Manager of Intervenor Services leads, coordinates and manages the daily operations of an assigned portfolio of Intervenor Services, through leadership on program development and staff management that aligns with Sensity's Purpose Statement and Organizational Values.
Essential Position Functions:
- Leads, coaches and directs a team of Intervenor Services professionals in the safe, effective and efficient delivery of intervenor services to support individual programs.
- Directly oversees Intervenor Services Coordinators; indirectly oversees Intervenors. Makes hiring, performance management and disciplinary decisions for direct reports.
- Conducts regular team meetings to discuss program development, staffing and recruitment.
- Reviews, approves and oversees Intervenor Services Coordinator schedules, including travel requirements and approves intervenor rotational schedules.
- Conducts audits of Intervenor Services programs to evaluate program quality and effectiveness and alignment to Sensity's Purpose Statement and Organizational Values.
- Oversees the financial expenditures of their assigned programs.
- Empowers and coaches Intervenor Services Coordinators to develop an inclusive and open communication environment with individuals supported and/or their families.
- Approves processes and protocols required for the effective delivery of Intervenor Services. Identifies gaps and make suggestions to the Director of Services with regards to policies and procedures related to Intervenor Services.
- Ensures that the team's activities follow Sensity's health and safety policies and procedures.
- Monitors and ensures up-to date, person-centered plans are in place for all individuals supported and are regularly evaluated by the services team.
- Ensures the smooth transition of individuals and their families into Sensity Services including but not limited to; ensuring program initiation, overseeing the development of protocols, schedules, staffing and health & safety requirements and follows through to ensure the implementation of recommendations from the needs/risk assessment completed at the intake stage.
- Performs other duties, as required.
Other Items:
- This position is based in Kingston and the incumbent must reside in the Kingston area.
- This position is required to be on-call.
- Travel to head office located in Paris Ontario is expected.
- Occasional travel is required within Ontario.
- Caseload/portfolio to be determined.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a College diploma (or equivalent) in the social services field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, with at least four (4) years in a supervisory role.
- Formal education/training in leadership and/or management is required.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Experience working with individuals who are deafblind, or who have special needs and/or developmental disabilities, within an interdisciplinary team.
- Solid program development experience, including adapting content to accommodate individual learning styles.
- Understanding of the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Human Rights legislation.
- Strong computer proficiency, with working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Inclusion and Sharevision would be an asset.
- Solid time management, attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills, with a strong client service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Working knowledge of American Sign Language / various communication methods and exposure to social services are definite assets.
- Adaptable and flexible with an ability to respond to changing work priorities, pressure and demands.
- Community college certificate in not-for-profit leadership is an asset.
- Bilingual (English/French) an asset
