Primary Purpose

This role is responsible for leading the development and execution of the company's marketing communications strategy across all businesses in Canada and the United States. This role will require the incumbent to manage external and internal communications, elevate brand positioning, assist in driving lead generation, and foster relationships with key stakeholders. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Design, Operations. Human Resources and Customer Experience to ensure cohesive and impactful messaging that aligns with the company's business goals.

Key Accountabilities

Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing communications strategy to promote Atlantic Packaging's products, services, and solutions in the corrugated packaging industry.
  • Lead brand positioning and ensure consistency across all marketing channels, including print, digital, social media, events, and PR.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align marketing communication efforts with overall business objectives and growth goals.

Content Development & Management:

  • Oversee the creation of high-quality content for various platforms, including website, blogs, social media, white papers, case studies, brochures and email campaigns.
  • Assist internal teams in creating content that aligns with the company's brand identity and positioning, ensuring a clear and consistent message across various platforms and materials
  • Manage external agencies, freelancers, and in-house teams to develop compelling and consistent messaging, creative assets, and advertising materials.

Digital Marketing & Lead Generation:

  • Develop and manage digital marketing campaigns, including SEO/SEM, PPC, email marketing, and social media, to drive lead generation and nurture customer engagement.
  • Measure and report on the performance of digital marketing initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to optimize results.

Event Management & Trade Shows:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of trade shows, conferences, and industry events to increase brand visibility and support sales efforts.
  • Develop presentations and sales collateral for events, ensuring that messaging resonates with clients and prospects.

Public Relations & Media Relations:

  • Oversee the creation, direction and placement of articles, blogs and industry publications to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership across media channels.
  • Keep a pulse on local/regional events where the company can engage with the community to ensure effective communication of brand values and enhance public perception
  • Oversee crisis communications and ensure consistent messaging during sensitive or high-profile situations.

Internal Communications:

  • Lead internal communications efforts, including newsletters, company updates, and employee engagement initiatives to maintain a strong company culture.
  • Ensure alignment between internal teams and external messaging.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing communications, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role, preferably in a B2B manufacturing or industrial environment.

Experience

  • Strong understanding of effective marketing and communications practices in a B2B manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing communications strategies.
  • Experience in managing digital marketing campaigns, lead generation initiatives, and content marketing.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and compelling messaging for a variety of audiences.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Knowledge in marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and analytics platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics) would be an asset

Nature and Scope

  • Impact: Resource for business leaders to ensure that Atlantic Packaging's brand identity is effectively communicated, ultimately aiding the company in achieving its growth goals.
  • Contacts: Managers and executives across the Atlantic Packaging group of companies, external resources/consultants
  • Leadership / Level of Responsibility: Direct oversight of all corporate-level internal and external communications, marketing content creation and promotional activities across all businesses.
  • Freedom to Act / Decision-Making Authority: The role will make decisions related to marketing content and internal/external communications. For highly sensitive subjects, role will make recommendations to the executive team.
  • Physical and Sensory Demands: On-going requirements for computer-based work and attendance at meetings, will require attention to detail and ability to deal with distractions.
  • Working Environment: Hybrid office model, with travel required 10% of the time.
