General Description
Mechanical Designer works with our technical team to provide project support to create industrial automation designs and technical drawings for mechanical devices and equipment. The designer will work within our team to create and improve productivity of automation systems or processes and develop drawings for a wide variety of machines.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Provide design, estimates, quotes, and technical issue resolution.
- Ability to resolve product design issues.
- Provide on-site technical support for designated vendor products and projects as directed by the Director of Business Solutions.
- Support Technical Sales Rep with customer presentations for designated suppliers.
- Provide technical training to Proax Customers, Inside Sales and Technical Sales Representatives
- Provide input to the Director Business Solutions on items to carry in inventory.
- Exhibit professional, respectful interaction with customers and other team members.
- Accurately and professionally represent Proax Technologies to customers and vendors.
- Ability to meet objectives, through project planning and judgment.
- Demonstrate ability to accept overall project responsibility.
- Flexible to adopt other responsibilities as deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications & Educational Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in mechanical engineering
- 10+ years' experience in as a Mechanical Designer and Estimator
- Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Deep IT and CAD knowledge
- Strong computer and mathematical skills
- Flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative.
