COMMISSARY COOK
The successful candidate will work 5 days/40 hours/week. Shifts may be scheduled as early as 5:00AM and be scheduled to finish as late as 5:00PM and may include weekends
Typical Shift Times (may vary):
Monday to Friday: 5:00am to 1:30pm, 7:00am to 3:30pm, 8:30am to 5:00pm

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Prepare, cut, portion, and cook various vegetables, salads, and soups for our bistro
- Consistency is your jam! You ensure recipes are properly measured and have a keen eye for detail
- Ensuring freshness of our products, this position will participate in proper rotation of stock in all areas of the kitchen
- You love complying with rules about cleanliness and comply with WorkSafe, Food Safe and Nature's Fare standards at all times.
- You're a master of all kitchen equipment including knives, mandolins, burners, rational ovens, large stock kettles, large mixers, immersion hand blenders, food processor, etc.
- You love safety and efficiencies! You ensure efficiency of the team by alerting the commissary manager of any equipment failure, product shortages, etc. in a timely manner
- Complete assigned daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks
- Contribute and maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Experience in volume food preparation as a prep or line cook is a plus but not necessary
- Education in related area considered an asset
- Food Safe Certificate - Level 1
- Knowledge of inventory control and food storage procedures an asset
- Knowledge of provincial health, sanitization, and safety regulations
