Job Description:
We're seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to join our dedicated interdisciplinary Care Team at Lakeshore/Madison. As a key member of our team, you will play an integral role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through expert nutrition care, support, and education.

As a Registered Dietitian, you will have a wide range of impactful duties, including:

  • Resident Assessments & Care Plans: Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and create personalized care plans using Point Click Care, ensuring all nutrition-related needs are met for each resident.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our interdisciplinary care team, including nursing, care staff, and the kitchen team, to support the overall well-being of residents.
  • Nutrition Education: Provide ongoing nutrition education to nursing, care, and kitchen staff. Conduct educational sessions and ensure accurate records are kept for compliance.
  • Menu Development & Auditing: Collaborate with the Chef to review and adjust seasonal menus based on nutritional needs and feedback. Audit menus and maintain quality assurance programs like “Audits and More.”
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Manage nutrition supplements, track significant weight changes, and clear intake alerts in Point Click Care. Ensure all records and assessments are thoroughly documented and updated in a timely manner.
  • Resident Care Conferences: Actively participate in or prepare notes for resident care conferences, ensuring that nutrition concerns are highlighted and addressed.
  • Communication & Support: Maintain open lines of communication with all departments, especially the kitchen and recreation teams, to address food concerns or recommendations brought up during resident council meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) in good standing.
  • Active member of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia (CDBC) and eligible for membership with Dietitians of Canada (DC).
  • At least 2 years of recent clinical experience in long-term care settings.
  • Certification to practice Restricted Activity A & C.
  • Knowledge of Dysphagia Assessments is an asset.
  • Proficient understanding of Division 3 (Nutrition) of the Residential Care Regulation under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for working with seniors.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
