PAUT/TOFD Technicians

IRISNDT Corp. has an immediate, full-time position available for a PAUT/TOFD Technician within our Advanced Services Department.

IRISNDT has been serving the oil and gas, petroleum and petrochemical, chemical, power generation, pipeline and potash industries since 1953.

Our Canadian operations currently provide services from Edmonton, Calgary, Cold Lake, Fort McMurray, Lloydminster, Nisku, and Red Deer. Our USA operations provide services from 23 office locations, our United Kingdom operations provide services from 7 office locations, and our Australian operations provide services from 5 locations.

Job Duties:

  • Conducting Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) and Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) inspections on a variety of equipment and structures;
  • Interpreting PAUT/TOFD inspection data and producing high-quality inspection reports;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and technical services, to resolve any issues and complete projects;
  • Maintaining knowledge of industry best practices, safety standards, and regulatory requirements related to PAUT/TOFD inspection;
  • Staying up to date with the latest PAUT/TOFD inspection techniques and technology.


Required Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have the following certifications and experience:

  • PAUT/TOFD certification and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in NDT inspection;
  • Strong knowledge of PAUT/TOFD inspection techniques and methodologies;
  • Ability to interpret and analyze PAUT/TOFD inspection data and produce high-quality inspection reports;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.


Safety Requirements:

  • Steel-toe boots are required; IRISNDT will provide additional PPE.


Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Health benefits that meet or exceed industry standards will be provided after a 3-month probationary period. Legal entitlement to work in Canada is mandatory. All potential employees will be required to complete a pre-employment fitness examination and an alcohol and drug screening.
