We are also on a bus route, with a stop just outside of the hotel, and are our complimentary shuttle also picks up our employees from the bus loop at UBCO.
Position Summary
The AV Banquet Supervisor is a part of the Food and Beverage leadership team and has a primary focus on ensuring the smooth flow of all meeting spaces Audio Visual requirements and the overall sucess of banquet operations. The AV Banquet Supervisor ensures that all service standards and departmental policies are followed by the banquet team members at all times.
What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you are responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
AV
- Responsible for setup and install of all AV equipment in adherence to the Event Order requirements at both hotels
- Act as the on-site contact to answer any AV related questions, help with troubleshooting or last-minute installs
- Ensures timely setup, operation and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment
- Provides exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple setup requirements at one time
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Keep inventory of AV equipment
- Provides technical support for events and colleagues
- Fully responsible of storing and maintaining all banquet AV equipment
- Available to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Additional duties as required
- Responsible for making the function spaces visually appealing
- Maintaining the overall sanitation and cleanliness of the work areas, banquet rooms and storage areas
- Responsible for the proper usage and good working order of all equipment, furniture and fixtures in the banquet and catering sections
- Consistently implement the service standards and operating procedures in the banquet and catering service
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer needs are met
- Provide unique and creative ideas to enhance meetings & group experience
- Should possess in depth knowledge of food and beverage preparation and presentation
- Supervise events and team members throughout service
- Guide the banquet servers in set up of tables and place settings
- Be familiar with all current and upcoming event details
- Resolve staff and customer concerns quickly and efficiently
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience in similar role in a Hotel Environment
- Understanding of AV equipment and current trends
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, & Outlook
- Ability to multi-task
- Should be able to work under pressure and work in long or break shifts
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Passion for food, beverage, and providing excellent customer service
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude
- Serving it Right Certificate
- Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
- Available to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
