In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and optimizing an API framework to support high-concurrency, low-latency operations within a cloud-based ML ecosystem. The system involves managing extended prediction runtimes and ensuring reliable client-server synchronization. Additionally, you will assist in debugging and fine-tuning device-level firmware issues, collaborating closely with our hardware team to ensure seamless integration and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop a scalable ML app API to handle high volumes of client requests with low latency, optimizing endpoints for continuous server-client communication.
  • Develop strategies for managing multiple simultaneous requests, load balancing, and efficient queuing for long-running ML predictions.
  • Collaborate with the hardware team to troubleshoot and debug firmware and hardware issues as they arise.
  • Conduct rigorous performance testing, identifying and implementing solutions to reduce latency and enhance reliability.
  • Create clear documentation of APIs, workflows, and solutions for team alignment and future reference.
  • Participate in team discussions to provide updates, address challenges, and align on objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Current student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of server-client API design, particularly for cloud-based applications.
  • Experience or coursework in machine learning, data processing, and handling real-time communication.
  • A basic understanding of hardware debugging and firmware support is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Familiarity with LLM APIs (like GPT, API) is a plus.
  • Prior Software Engineering/MLOps Internship experience is a plus.

Duration: 3 months, with the possibility of an extension.
