ABOUT THE NEWLY INSTITUTE
The Newly Institute was founded to provide long-lasting change within the mental health industry, our community, and with our clients. We are leading a paradigm shift in the Canadian healthcare system by building a network of purpose-built mental health clinics across Canada. By fusing a bio-psycho-social-spiritual treatment model with medically managed therapies, our intensive outpatient programs provide rapid access, rapid resolution, and rapid return to work and healthy lifestyle programs for anxiety, depression, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma, and chronic pain.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Psychiatrist to join our innovative, purpose-driven, and multi-disciplinary clinical team in our brand-new clinic in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This will be The Newly Institute's 5th clinic in Canada and will be opening in September, 2024.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Psychiatrist plays an integral role in the multidisciplinary team of The Newly Institute, with close involvement in each stage of client care. Psychiatrists provide initial assessments to our diverse referral sources including private clients, long-term disability providers, workers' compensation organizations, and more. The Psychiatric assessment will provide recommendations on programming at The Newly Institute, while providing input on medication optimization and insight on treatment targets.
Psychiatrists take part in routine case rounds while providing follow-up care during treatment. When on-site, Psychiatry has the unique opportunity to facilitate reflection and integration with clients taking part in ketamine treatment. At the end of the program, the Psychiatrist will see clients for discharge assessment, and recommendations.
