New City Contracting is seeking a Site Superintendent with a background in mechanical and electrical projects. The Site Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring the use of personal protective equipment on-site and that all work complies with company policies and standards regarding cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and timely delivery. Additionally, this role involves managing job site administration, including reviewing and submitting employee timesheets and maintaining daily logs. A degree or diploma in a related field, along with relevant bonding and certifications, are required.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in scheduling and planning the construction project
- Communicate progress reports to the Construction Project Manager
- Monitor daily sign-in and sign-out via Sitemax
- Coordinate material needs with the Project Coordinator weekly
- Attend all site meetings with trades and engineers
- Record meeting minutes for bi-weekly engineer-driven meetings
- Supervise trades' scopes and quality of installations
- Address issues with trades as they arise
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule daily activities of trades
- Coordinate work activities with subcontractors
- Ensure safe working conditions are maintained
- Follow up with SVR and SI for trade completeness and QA
- Ensure trades complete work according to POs and COs
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Construction Site Superintendent
- Degree or diploma in a related field and relevant bonding and certifications
- Background in mechanical and electrical projects
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Experience in preparing and conducting post-implementation evaluations
- Ability to create realistic schedules for timely project completion
- Proven cost control measures and strong project management skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress
