SILVICULTURE FORESTER

Based out of the Hinton, AB office and reporting to the Silviculture Superintendent, the Silviculture Forester will work with a team of professionals responsible for all reforestation activities. Our Silviculture Foresters enjoy a balanced mix of field and office work, while living in the community of Hinton.

You'll do:
• As a Silviculture Forester, you would be responsible for all aspects of reforestation activities. This includes developing reforestation plans and prescriptions, contract administration, contractor supervision, data collection, reporting, and budget preparation.
• Program coordination with other members of the Silviculture team and the Planning and Operations Departments.
• Additional responsibilities include monitoring contractor compliance with safe operating procedures, SFI certification, and health and safety programs.

You have:
• A forestry, natural resources, or relevant degree or diploma.
• A Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Forest Technologist (RPFT) Designation with the Association of Alberta Forest Management Professionals (AAFMP), or the ability to obtain.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven organizational skills, and a willingness to learn and undertake new challenges.
• 2-4 years of relevant forestry and silviculture experience.
• Proficiency with silviculture software including Land Resource Manager (LRM), ArcMap, SNAP!, Plant Wizard, and MS Office, will be considered an asset.
