Salary:

We are seeking an experienced Foreman/Woman Carpenter who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about leading teams to deliver outstanding results. The Foreman/Woman Carpenter will work closely with our Site Superintendents to oversee construction activities, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This is a full-time, permanent position with our Edmonton-based team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate on-site operations, including the management of staff and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with company standards and project specifications, as well as all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Drive project timelines, managing resources to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Oversee the safety of the construction site, enforcing strict compliance with Atkinson Construction's safety protocols and OHS regulations.
  • Mentor and develop the skills of junior staff and apprentices, promoting a culture of learning and growth.
  • Manage and utilize construction technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy on-site.
  • Perform hands-on carpentry work as needed, demonstrating expertise in commercial construction techniques.
  • Collaborate with project management teams to resolve any issues that arise during the construction process promptly.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a foreman role in commercial construction.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and technical documents.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in team management.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to conflict resolution.
  • Advanced knowledge of carpentry, concrete work, and construction best practices.
  • Computer literacy and experience with construction management software.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project requirements.
  • A valid Class 5 Licence.
