Reporting to the company's Health and Safety Lead, the Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Saskatoon-based Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) team in overseeing successful development and implementation of the health and safety program for the company's Saskatchewan-based activities.

Central to this role will be fostering a strong connection between the company's on-site and Saskatoon-office-based activities, including regular site and field visits and providing subject matter expertise related to health and safety program management and monitoring. This is a unique opportunity to join a team that is focused on the advancement of the Project – a Tier-1 uranium project – as it transitions to the next stage of development.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Support and coordinate the development and implementation of a robust health and safety management system in a manner reflective of the company's vision and values and in accordance with the Project's regulatory obligations.
  • Support the phased implementation of the Health and Safety Program, Emergency Preparedness and Response Program, Security Program, and Fire Protection Program for the Project.
  • Work collaboratively across Exploration and Project Development teams in the development and implementation of training, plans, procedures, work instructions, guides, forms, etc.
  • Support employee and contractor engagement and hazard communication activities related to health and safety through occupational health committees and other means as required.
  • Provide subject matter expert support and input as required to ensure Project and site processes are fit-for-purpose and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in and contribute to risk assessments as related to conventional health and safety hazards and controls.
  • Provide necessary internal and external reporting related to health and safety performance.
  • Participate in internal health and safety audit activities as required.
  • Assist in the incident management process, participate in incident investigations and corrective action activities as assigned.
  • Drive continual improvement efforts enhancing health and safety, emergency preparedness and response, fire protection and contractor management programs.
  • Contribute to engagement activities with Indigenous groups, local communities, and regulators to support health, safety, and emergency preparedness and response processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • Degree or diploma in health and safety management, risk management, engineering, or a related field with a minimum five years of industry experience. Substantial experience in mining or heavy industry may be accepted in place of educational requirements.
  • Relevant post-secondary certificates that are required for respective work discipline.
  • Experience at a uranium mining and milling project is considered an asset.
  • Detailed knowledge of key concepts, theories, and practices related to effective control of health and safety related risks.
  • Proven contribution to establishing work plans and managing the delivery of those plans via effective leadership and management of human and physical resources.
  • Demonstrated experience in analysis and improvement of risk control strategies, including experience with deploying major change initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and provide coordination across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong digital literacy using Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software.
Location: This position will be based in the Saskatoon project office with routine trips to the company's field operations, including remote camp settings.
