International Point of Care is an Etobicoke, ON-based company specialized in the area of rapid point-of-care. We develop, manufacture, and supply unique biological reagents, raw materials, and lateral flow components for the in-vitro diagnostic industry and the research and development community.
Our expanding team is currently looking for production workers to perform various manufacturing duties in the process where we manufacture freeze-dried reagent beads, and assemble and package medical devices. This is a six months contract to start with a possibility to extend/hire.
Position Summary:
Performs manufacturing activities related to the dispensing and lyophilization in the LBR program.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma/equivalent or 2-3 years related experience in a production/packaging setting.
• Experience in assembly, packaging and labeling of products.
• Experience operating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and performing routine inspection or test procedures as required.
• Basic knowledge of computers (MS Office).
• Working knowledge of manufacturing and inspection equipment.
• Experience following Standard Operating Procedures or similar protocols.
• Strong detail orientation.
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
• Predominately performs LBR dispensing and lyophilization, including problem solving issues with equipment and communicating any issues to management.
• Uses appropriate PPE while working with liquid nitrogen in the daily manufacturing of LBR products.
• Performs various aspects of LBR product manufacturing and packaging including, but not limited to dispensing, lyophilization and packaging processes.
• Sets up and runs bead dispensers, lyophilizers and any packaging equipment.
• Follows and adheres to Standard Operating Procedures/Good Manufacturing Practices and verbal instructions.
• Assists in set up, operation and maintenance of production equipment.
• Maintains records to comply with regulatory requirements,
• Examines components in assembly process and flags potential defects or quality issues.
