Job Title: Physician Assistant (Advanced Practice Clinician) - Clinic Setting
Location: Calgary, AB
Overview:
As an Advanced Practice Clinician (Physician Assistant) working in a clinic setting, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care working directly with a licensed physician. This position offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive medical services, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to improving healthcare outcomes for patients.
What you will be doing:

  • Be part of the multidisciplinary team to provide consultations for patients experiencing acute and/or chronic pain secondary to musculoskeletal dysfunction.

  • Complete assessments

  • Diagnose

  • Manage patients' acute and chronic pain

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests

  • Recommend and order procedures

  • Refer patients to specialists

  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with a specialist physician

  • Provide health education to patients and families in collaboration with a specialist physician.

  • Provide patients with continuity of care between and after procedures

  • Participate in Interdisciplinary rounds conducted daily to discuss goals and treatment plans

  • Maintain the strictest level of confidentiality and privacy.

  • Maintain and appropriately use EMR and Clinic systems and databases.

  • Follow clinic practices and procedures, providing feedback for improvements.


What you must have:

  • Completion of a recognized Physician Assistant program.

  • Current registration and licensure as a Physician Assistant with the College of Physicians and Surgeons

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a primary care or specialty clinic setting.

  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to formulate and implement treatment plans.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare technology.
