Newforce Energy Services Ltd. is a diversified oilfield services company with divisions in: pipeline construction, pipeline maintenance and integrity, facilities construction, facilities maintenance, lease construction and electrical and instrumentation (E&I).

Newforce is currently looking for an Off Road Heavy Equipment Technician. Who is experienced in the Oil & Gas industry to join our team based out of Drayton Valley. Location of repair work is at the Drayton Valley Shop and within the field as required.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform diagnostics, repairs and schedule maintenance work involving all types of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, drive train and engine repairs on company equipment being primarily John Deere excavators, CAT dozers, and pipelayers. Other equipment includes grader, loader, skidsteer, and picker truck.
• Diagnose and repair equipment in field as-needed.
• Have flexible work schedule (shift work, overtime, and weekend availability)
• Interpret technical manuals, work orders, and write service reports.
• Perform preventative and service maintenance on equipment keeping equipment cleaned, lubricated, and well-maintained.
• Monitor the safety and efficiency of equipment.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, and/or systems.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufacturers' specifications and legislated requirements.
• Perform physically demanding duties such as: heavy lifting, working underneath equipment, working in cramped or awkward positions, climbing on/off units, getting in/out of units, working long hours if required.
• Provide guidance, training and coaching to apprentices or shop hands when necessary.
• Maintain a customer focused approach.
• Pay attention to detail

Qualifications

• Journeyman Certificate – Heavy Equipment Technician (HET)
  
• A valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract
• Valid H2S, First Aid, other customer-specific safety certifications
• Experience in the Oil and Gas industry an asset
• Ability to work in various working conditions ranging from outdoors to indoors in a variety of weather conditions
• On call as needed

• 10 hours a day. Rotation shifts are 10 on and 4 off.
