Job Description

Aslan Technologies has a Project Manager opportunity for engineers/technologists/PMs to join our team in Burlington, Ontario. The Project Manager would be responsible for manager projects related to water and wastewater treatment, chemical dosing … systems. They work in collaboration with a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the efficient and effective operation of water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role requires technical Knowledge in engineering principles, environmental regulations, and strong abilities in project management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Understand, request and Organize process schematics, PFDs, and P&IDs to ensure proper functionality and alignment with project requirements.
  • Understand, request and organize detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water and wastewater projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements.
  • Supervise and oversee the production of water and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including budgets, timelines, reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Receives and develop new technical inquiries, request of proposals (RFPs) and request for quote (RFQs)
  • Develop cost estimation, technical specifications, vendor, and contractor prequalification, procurement/tender support, and contract administration.
  • Understand, request and Organize design briefs, control narratives and user operation and maintenance manuals for water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Develop and perform quality control and commissioning checklists and procedures for water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Discuss equipment design and operation with suppliers, consultants, customers, and operators.

Requirements and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, including physical, chemical, and biological treatment methods.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex engineering issues.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and permit requirements in relation to water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in design calculations, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to maintain project documentation and records systematically.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of water and wastewater engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Commitment to health and safety practices in the workplace.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office applications – Word, Access, and Excel.
  • “G” Driver's license.
