Roles/Requirements:

An Electrical Supervisor has the following roles and requirements:

  • Lead up to 20 electricians and testers
  • Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits,
  • Troubleshoot and isolate faults
  • Complete pre and post trip inspections
  • Order parts (electrical consumable components)
  • Approve vacation and time-off request of employee in electrical department
  • Provide updates on jobs in production
  • Attend production meeting
  • Meet all the deadlines before shipping the unit.
  • Prepare tools and supplies prior to job commencement
  • Ensure compliance with all established Occupational Health and Safety Act, safety policies and procedures as established by ICE Western Sales Ltd.
  • Report all unsafe acts and conditions to the OHS Manager
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Wear all personal protective equipment in accordance to all health and safety laws.
  • Enters logs, inspection documentation, and other required paperwork accurately and submit to the supervisor daily.
  • Report all equipment malfunctions and maintenance issues expediently to the Supervisor and OHS Manager
  • Conduct pre-use visual inspections of all equipment
  • Participate in material segregation and loading/unloading of containers.
  • Read; interpret blueprints, diagrams, plans.
  • Shut down equipment during all times of non-usage (i.e. work breaks, lunch period, meetings, etc.)
  • Exhibit respect at all times for Company property including tools, supplies, vehicles, and heavy equipment.
  • Report for work on time and ready to begin work.
  • Attend and participate in all safety, toolbox, training, and other scheduled meetings.
  • Be proactive and involved in all aspects of ICE Western Health and safety program
  • Oversee Production in Electrical Department and Panel Room.
  • Oversee Testers and Technical Support

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical strength and stamina
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to resolve conflict
  • The ability to manage up to 50 employees and work well in a team environment and under pressure.
  • You understand how to lead and train staff

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Required to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • A full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; and bending, climbing, reaching, and crouching.
  • Have command of all five senses, sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from distant forms to close forms.
  • Working primarily indoors.
  • Noise level is usually moderate, but can be higher in different times of the day
  • Shift: 6:00 AM to 3 PM.

Qualifications:

  • Must have minimum of 15 years of experience in Electrical trade.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in HVAC.
  • Must have a Journeyman Electrician certification.
  • Must have commercial and industrial experience as an electrician.
  • Must have supervisory experience (minimum of 5 years)
  • Automation experience is an asset.
  • Quality control experience is an asset.
  • Requires to go on site, if needed.
