Senior Architect Residential Mid-Rise Specialist
Location: Kitchener, Hamilton, or Toronto (can work from any of these offices)

Salary: $100,000 - $130,000
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Architect with specialized expertise in the residential sector, particularly in mid-rise developments (~6 stories). This role requires a seasoned architect with a deep understanding of mid-rise design, from concept through construction, and proven experience managing and leading multiple residential projects. The ideal candidate will be both technically skilled and client-focused, able to maintain excellent client relationships while steering projects to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead the design and development of residential mid-rise buildings from initial concept through to project closeout, managing all architectural phases.
- Client Engagement: Act as the primary client contact, building strong relationships and ensuring their vision is accurately reflected in project deliverables.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams, including designers, project managers, and other architects, to deliver cohesive and efficient project outcomes.
- Technical Expertise: Oversee architectural specifications, permitting, code compliance, and the technical resolution of project-related issues.
- Project Oversight: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery within scope, quality, and time constraints.
- Design Review: Lead and review design solutions, ensuring they meet client requirements, project goals, and sustainable design principles.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with consultants, contractors, and municipal officials to achieve project milestones and approvals.
Requirements:
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in architecture, with a strong portfolio of residential projects, particularly mid-rise developments.
- Project Experience: Demonstrated experience leading at least 3-4 full project lifecycles in the residential mid-rise sector.
- Certification: Must be a licensed Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) member.
- Client-Facing Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and an approachable demeanor with a proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in architectural design software (Revit), and a strong understanding of Ontario Building Code and other relevant regulations.
- Education: Masters degree in Architecture.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices and LEED standards.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
- Proven ability to mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
