Reporting to the VP of Talent & Rewards, the Director, Talent Acquisition will play a pivotal role in advancing goeasy's emerging employer brand and dynamic recruitment strategy, essential for the company's continued growth. With a compelling vision and the ability to lead, coach, and elevate a highly engaged team of Talent Acquisition Specialists, this leader will drive strategies that attract, assess, and secure top talent for goeasy—a company distinguished by its customer-first commitment. As a strategic business partner, the Director will continue to strengthen our Talent Acquisition practice by fostering proactive, impactful partnerships with our retail and corporate leadership teams.
What will you be doing?
- Provide mentorship and coaching to our talented talent acquisition team, guiding them to understand recruitment strategy, expertly manage processes, build consulting skills and navigate complex searches – this team is committing a great employment experience to candidates and they deserve the very best experience themselves.
- Directly oversee staffing strategies and execution for Senior Leadership roles (in collaboration with the VP, Talent & Rewards and Chief Talent Officer) and to directly manage other corporate roles as necessary.
- Accountability for end-to-end talent acquisition across all levels and business units. This includes a team dedicated to high-volume retail hiring as well as a corporate desk.
- Management, advocacy, and contribution to the evolution of our employment brand as a platform to engage and hire top talent at market.
- Create an equitable and barrier-free talent acquisition process by aligning talent strategy with goeasy's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Consistently seek opportunities to streamline and enhance the high-volume talent acquisition process through creative sourcing strategies and executions, vendor partnerships, talent management, systems, process engineering, and assessment tools.
- Create a data-driven function that invests strategically in vendor partnerships and assesses talent in an effective manner.
- Remain informed and communicative on the organizational staffing picture and trends that could impact operating costs.
- Partner internally with HR to establish and contribute to a great talent management and succession planning cycle, affording enhanced visibility and opportunity to internal talent.
- Management of the company-wide relocation program.
- Remain current on relevant market best practices in talent acquisition including leveraging technology, social media, and niche networks.
- Expertly manage the Talent Acquisition from an operational standpoint - budget, vendors, external staffing partners - ensuring that goeasy is getting the most for every dollar invested in recruitment.
What experience do you have?
- 7 to 10 years of experience in Talent Acquisition with a focus on leading and managing a high-performing function in a medium to large organization.
- University degree required.
- Experience managing a high-volume recruitment function is necessary; direct in-house corporate experience is a must.
- Demonstrated team leadership and people management and development with a track record of creating leaders and career paths; hands-on coaching and mentoring experience.
- Experience authoring and executing on a talent acquisition strategy infused with researched best practices; an ability to adapt strategy based on environmental considerations.
- Strong customer focus and an ability to effectively and quickly build relationships and establish trust, respect, competence, and confidence.
- Adaptable, a self-starter and comfortable in a high-growth business where ambiguity and extended hours are the norm. You are seeking a building opportunity and not looking to maintain what someone else has put in place.
We offer a Flexible Work Program that provides you the ability to work three days onsite per week, from our Mississauga and office.
