Role Summary:
Bouchier is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter to join our team supporting our camp projects site. We are looking for someone who is not only skilled in plumbing but also interested in project work and contributing to our team's success in maintaining our camp facilities. As a Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter, you will play a crucial role in installing Natural Gas Piping for this project.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of Natural Gas distribution lines.
- Install underground polyethylene pipe, above ground carbon steel pipe, fittings, pressure gauges, PCV's, PSV's and pipe supports to transport the NG from the Tie-in point to the individual buildings.
- Keep up to date with current safety regulations, requirements, and training for the various NG systems the company installs and maintains.
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections and passage holes in walls.
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
- Measure and cut pipes using hand and power tools.
- Thread pipe.
- Join pipes using couplings (mechanical).
- Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
- May prepare cost estimates.
- Receive and complete work orders.
- Provide training, mentorship and support for Apprentices as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Red Seal or Alberta certified Journeyman Plumber certificate is required.
- Journeyman Gas Fitter Class A or B is preferred.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.
- CSTS and OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018) or CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019) certification.
- Extensive gas fitting experience.
- Proficiency in threading techniques.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with DR11 Poly gas line.
- Minimum three years of experience in an oilfield industrial environment.
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Thorough knowledge of plumbing system maintenance and repairs.
- Strong mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a work team.
- Fluent in spoken, written, and reading English.
