POSITION SUMMARY

  • Work closely with the Group Internal Accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting for the North American Bus and Coach business unit of NFI Group.
  • A Key member of the Transactions Team in ensuring that deadlines for submitting month-end, quarter-end and year-end results are met and that NFI Group policies and processes prepare results.
  • Support the Group Internal Accounting leadership in developing and implementing standardized Group accounting policies and processes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Perform recurring monthly tasks and journal entries to assist the Group Internal Accounting team in financial close.
  • Work closely with Accounting Transactions Team Supervisor and Group Internal Accounting Manager to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Support and interact with various functional groups within Finance and Operations.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and account analysis.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Assist in process standardization and system implementation projects.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Completion of a business degree/diploma or relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Completing a professional accounting designation or enrolling in an accounting program (CPA) is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • Prior experience in a finance/accounting function
  • Analytical problem solver with capabilities to work within a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong MS Excel skills and ability to learn new systems.
  • Experience with Oracle is considered an asset.

0 - 5% of travel is required in this position.
