The Heavy Equipment Technician contributes to the overall organization by maintaining, inspecting, and repairing the fleet of heavy-duty and support equipment for The Hall Group of Companies. The role primarily involves close interactions with the maintenance team to ensure optimal machine health and availability.

Your day-to-day will look like:

  • Repair, maintain, and inspect a variety of equipment.
  • Document all repair actions through service reports and timecards, ensuring precision in coding.
  • Manage equipment breakdowns in alignment with operational priorities.
  • Coordinate with the Equipment Foreman to ensure timely servicing of all machinery.
  • Collaborate effectively across the maintenance team.
  • Participate in product and safety training as required.
  • Adhere to all company and division-specific safety policies and procedures including; Completing Daily PSA's, Machine lockout procedures, Live machine testing, and wearing of proper PPE.
  • Mentor apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanics.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the maintenance team.

You have the following qualifications, technical and interpersonal skills:
Qualifications:

  • Years of experience: 5 Years
  • Education: Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician- Red Seal
  • Considered an asset:
    • CAT and John Deere experience

Technical Skills:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair complex engine, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems accurately.
  • Safely operate a wide range of heavy equipment.
  • Follow and implement maintenance and repair processes.
  • Skillfully use various repair tools and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics for effective troubleshooting.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong team player with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrates dedication and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Communicates effectively and listens actively to team needs.
  • Responds promptly and effectively to maintenance challenges.
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work alone and independently.
  • Able to excel and adapt in dynamic environment.
