We are looking for a talented CAD Technologist to join our fun and fast-paced Production team in Ontario. This position will be responsible for producing and maintaining survey plans and working with tight deadlines to meet creative and exciting project deliverables.

What you will do:

  • Produce and maintain legal survey plans, topographic plans, site plans and photo mosaics.
  • Record drawings and the collection, analysis, storage, distribution and application of spatial and three-dimensional data used in land development.
  • Ensure assignment requirements and client timelines are understood to complete deliverables.
  • Review drawings against requirements before providing to CAD Team Lead for final approval.
  • Adhere to the use of current departmental check sheets and workflow procedures.
  • Adhere to current CAD standards and provide input as required.
  • Assist in the development of CAD standards and procedures.
  • Support the CAD Team Lead in training junior staff in CAD standards and accuracy requirements.

What you will bring:

  • Diploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology, Engineering Design & Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline; or certification in CAD courses.
  • 4-6 years' experience drafting Survey plans.
  • Experience with the Ministry of Transportation is an asset.
  • Member in good standing or eligible for registration with local Survey or Technologist Association
  • An understanding of CAD requirements on various surveying projects.
  • Proficient in Windows, MS Office, latest versions of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Coordinate Geometry software.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering design components, alignments, grading, volumes and site construction works.
  • Knowledge of legal plan requirements and the use of Land Title and Survey Authority website.
  • A predisposition towards maintaining a safe working environment both for yourself and for those working with you or in your close vicinity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail while working with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to import field data and create plans of survey.
  • A strong understanding of technological basics and be able to maintain a high level of production.
  • Ability to work without supervision, while exhibiting effective time management and strong organizational skills.
  • Capacity to support and mentor/teach other members of the team.
