Who we are:
Crowfoot Village Family Practice (CVFP) is an innovative team that cares for more than 24,000 new-born to geriatric patients from Calgary and the surrounding area. Our team includes physicians, a nurse practitioner, registered nurses, pharmacists, a health management nurse, respiratory educators, a behavioural health consultant, medical office assistants and administrative assistants.
Our hours of operation are Monday – Friday 8:00 – 5:00pm.
We are looking to hire a casual Registered Nurse.
The Job:
The family practice registered nurse provides comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and creates linkages with community resources in promoting optimal level health and well-being for the patients. The registered nurse provides assessment, screening and education functions with the goal of improving health outcomes and supporting access to services including:
- Health Assessment
- Health Education
- Health Management
- Health Promotion

Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing required. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current CARNA registration required.
- Current BLS Healthcare level certification required.
- Three to five years clinical nursing experience in a variety of healthcare settings (acute care and community). Family Practice Nursing experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking and decision making skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to function independently and within a team environment required.
- Time management skills.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to change in the workplace required.
- Knowledge and understanding of Infection Prevention and Control requirements
- By following principles of standard practice, disposing safely of hazardous materials, and practicing safety in the workplace required.
- Knowledge and understanding of workplace safety standards including recognizing and reporting safety issues, using equipment and supplies according to established
- Standards and using appropriate lifting techniques in the workplace required.
- Computer skills required. Previous experience with an Electronic Medical Record
- Electronic Medical Record experience specifically: MedAccess, an asset.
