Our team offers comprehensive 24/7/365 monitoring and issue resolution, along with a full suite of data management services—from routine database tasks and maintenance support to advanced cloud architecture, migration, and management solutions.Position Summary: Cloud Engineer (Remote)As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in the maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions that adhere to industry best practices and fulfill business requirements.Location:This position is 100% remote, with a preference for candidates in the Eastern and Central time zones. Applicants near Pittsburgh, PA, who can work in a hybrid setup, will be prioritized. Availability for EST hours and on-call support is required.Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage OCI environments, including compute, storage, network, and security resources.
- Lead and execute full end-to-end cloud migration projects.
- Monitor OCI resource performance, availability, and capacity, resolving any issues or anomalies.
- Design and maintain scalable, high-availability architectures within Oracle OCI.
- Develop automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code templates for efficient OCI resource management.
- Collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness of cloud solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within OCI, Linux OS, and related infrastructure.
- Implement security controls, access management, and encryption to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies based on industry trends.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Experience: 7+ years in IT, with at least 3 years as a Cloud Engineer, including extensive experience managing complex Oracle OCI environments and large-scale migrations (AWS experience is a plus).
- Skills:
- Strong background in Linux administration, including command-line tools, shell scripting, and system performance tuning.
- Proficiency with WebLogic Server Administration (installation, domain configuration, app deployment).
- Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certified Architect or relevant Linux certifications are preferred.
- Authorization: Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder), based in the USA.
