Roles & Responsibilities

This is a full-time hybrid role as Assistant Project Manager. The APM is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day construction activities on site including managing personnel, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring quality assurance, and maintaining a safe and secure job site.

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget
  • Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Develop and implement quality control programs
  • Represent company on matters such as business services and contract negotiation
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
  • Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
  • Manage all project submittals

Qualifications

  • Experience in multi unit residential construction.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment
  • Experience in project scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with project team, clients, and subcontractors
  • Prior experience in general contracting including residential and commercial projects
  • Post-secondary education or 3+ years of experience as a superintendent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Autodesk and Bluebeam
  • Relevant certifications and licenses (e.g. First Aid, WHMIS, Construction Safety Training, etc.
