The Role

As an Accountant, you'll collaborate closely with our Financial Controller, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
This is an on-site position in our Richmond office, with a focus on preparing and monitoring annual budgets, managing monthly financial reports for each aircraft, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations. Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the individual will provide support to the accounting team to meet operational and reporting deadlines and have the following key responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage monthly job costing project for flights
- Prepare and manage monthly US and Canadian taxes related to flights
- Prepare billing invoices for flights and maintenance work orders
- Prepare monthly financial reports for managed aircraft
- Prepare and file quarterly rebates for carbon and excise taxes
- Prepare and report monthly aircraft flight time reports based on transportation regulations
- Prepare weekly and monthly analyses for fuel costs and direct flying costs
- Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations for multi-currency bank accounts and credit card accounts
- Validate transactions by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
- Perform other ad-hoc duties
Who you are
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, math, or a related field
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Working knowledge of Sage 50 or Simply Accounting preferred
- Self-motivated with a desire to continually learn and grow
- Eligible status to work in Canada

Salary range $60,000 - $70,000
