Role Summary
The Senior Director of Finance will play a critical role in partnering with the CFO and the senior leadership team to provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization. This position will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting, cash flow, foreign exchange, budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring the financial health of the organization through effective management and control of financial resources.
Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight: Oversee the timely preparation of financial reports ensuring compliance with accounting standards, credit agreements as well as other applicable laws and regulations. Work closely with the Head of Credit to ensure timely collection of receivables and managing the company's credit risk.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and financial forecasting processes including the annual budget, long-term forecasts, periodic financial forecasts and bank projections. Provide analytical insight and clarity on potential impacts and financial outcomes to guide management decisions.
- Strategic Planning: Work closely with the CFO and other senior executives to evaluate and advise on the financial implications of business plans and new initiatives. Act as a strategic partner in identifying opportunities for financial improvement and risk management.
- Cash Flow Management and Foreign Exchange: Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts. Optimize the management of the company's debt and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance the company's cash position. Oversee the company's foreign exchange exposure including the execution of foreign exchange contracts.
- Risk Management: Enhance and enforce policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company. Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with all applicable standards, laws and regulations.
- Leadership and Team Development: Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing finance team capable of meeting the demands of a dynamic international company. Foster a culture of transparency and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively communicate financial metrics and results to senior management and internal and external stakeholders.
- Operational Improvement: Work with other team leaders to streamline processes, enhance automation and improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations and reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; Master's degree or professional certification (such as CPA designation) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible financial experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role overseeing the financial functions in a high-growth or complex business environment of a medium to large organization.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent leadership and communication abilities and a proven track record in finance management. Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
- Experience dealing with multiple companies, multiple jurisdictions, multiple currencies and executing foreign exchange hedging contracts.
- Strong proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
