JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Event Coordinators are essential to managing our corporate events and sport tournaments. They are the eyes and ears at the venues and ensure tournaments/events run smoothly. We are looking for responsible, reliable and outgoing individuals to act as ambassadors for JAM.

  • Planning, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of tournaments and events from inception to completion.
  • Executing all event timelines, schedules, and logistics to ensure players and clients have the best possible onsite experience.
  • Managing on-site operations including registration, check-in, set up and tear down.
  • Answering general inquiries regarding both tournaments and corporate events.
  • Creating new corporate events and/or tournament ideas
  • Performing some market research and doing outreach to clients and vendors
  • Engaging with players onsite every tournament and event to ensure they are having the best. possible experience before, during, and after games.
  • Setting up equipment for the sport or event that will be played that day.
  • Assisting with any incidents and injuries as appropriate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Extremely upbeat and positive!
  • Willingness to approach and chat with our vendors, facility partners etc. and maintain positive relationships with all contacts.

Details, Details, Details

  • Taking care of the little details first makes putting on a big show easy!
  • Must have incredible attention to detail and be a quick learner!

Go Getter

  • Be confident and motivated to call on and/or meet/work/deal with players, head office staff, and facility staff.
  • Hardworking attitude. You are known for taking initiative.

Think Outside the Box Mentality

  • We're not looking for mediocre and old-school here. We want someone who has fresh ideas, can work on their own without being micromanaged, and is good at developing and maintaining relationships with our venue partners

Perfectly Seasoned

  • We are looking for someone who has past experience in operations and customer service.

Well Spoken & Written

  • You will need to be able to clearly articulate and communicate with the team on a day-to-day basis.
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of sports rules and formats is an asset!

Quick On Your Feet

  • Confidence in your ability to take control of a situation with a flair for being resourceful.
  • Strengths in planning, decision making, and creative problem solving.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid G Driver's license is mandatory.
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary college/university program requiring a placement to be completed to graduate.
  • Having access to your own personal vehicle is an asset.

UNIQUE WORKING HOURS

  • Typical hours are 9-5, but there will many cases of shifting hours to accommodate events and tournaments i.e.: 11am-7pm
  • You will be working Saturday for tournaments and will be able to take a Friday off in lieu of the time worked on Saturday
