About Hospice Mississauga
We are a charitable business that has been supporting individuals and families living with life-threatening illnesses in Mississauga since 1985.
Our mission is to provide compassionate care, support, and advocacy to alleviate the distress caused by serious illness and loss. Our services include hospice counselling, spiritual care, the HUUG Children's Program, health and wellness, bereavement support, and soon - a Hospice Centre.
About the Director, New Business Development Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the Senior Director, Development and lead the strategic execution and hands-on engagement of our capacity building around new business relationships in the community.
It is expected that this position will be onsite as needed, estimated at 2-3 days per week.
Salary and Benefits:
  • Hybrid Work Environment (2-3 days in office)
  • Salary range of $80,000 up to $100,000 for the right candidate

Your Key Responsibilities as Director, New Business Development:
  • Developing and executing business development strategies that align with organizational goals, drive growth, and create value
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with local businesses, community leaders, and government agencies
  • Identifying emerging business trends and market opportunities; analyzing market data and industry developments to drive business development activities
  • Leading a cross-functional team, overseeing business development initiatives, and mentoring junior staff
  • Managing and monitoring business development budgets and financial targets
  • Negotiating and closing complex contracts, partnerships, and strategic deals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and maximizing value
  • Delivering persuasive presentations, business pitches, and reports to executive teams, stakeholders, and clients
  • Driving revenue growth and achieving business development targets

Qualifications and Experience of the Director, New Business Development:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. A Master's degree or other advanced certifications (e.g., MBA) is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, with a proven ability to deliver measurable results
  • Deep understanding of the Mississauga business landscape, key stakeholders, and local economic trends
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with local businesses, community leaders, and government agencies
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory environments, local business policies, and government relations, with experience working with municipal, provincial, and federal agencies in the Greater Toronto Area
  • Competent in the use of CRM systems, business analytics tools, and digital platforms to support business development efforts and optimize processes
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively and identify innovative solutions to business challenges. Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in fast-paced environments
  • Proficiency in networking, customer service, and client engagement
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and fostering a collaborative, performance-driven work culture
