Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, providing financial insights and projections to the executive team. You will collect and analyze data from various departments and provide reliable reports to be used in decision-making and planning.

You will also assist in preparing accurate monthly financial reports, prepare presentations that provide thoughtful analysis, identify action items, and effectively frame decisions that need to be made.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Controller and the accounting team finance support and collaboration on goals, productivity, efficiency, business reviews and reporting, and metrics in a timely manner.
  • Operational Efficiency – review existing operations and recommend new productivity or cost-savings initiatives.
  • Identify and understand business challenges; propose and create solutions.
  • External reporting and monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc compliance reporting, including audits and specified procedures.
  • Dive deeply into financial data and become a subject matter expert to provide additional insights. Create presentations that provide insightful analysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions to be made.
  • Work on annual budgeting process, including scenario modeling and management presentation.
  • Monthly variance reports that compare departmental budgets to actual spending and prior-year expenses. Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Preparation of annual goodwill impairment testing document.
  • Assist in corporate projects and initiatives that impact the entire organization.
  • Point person for integration and implementation of new accounting software, with the Controller as full partner in requirement gathering and deployment.
  • Subject matter expert and liaison for other departments by developing and maintaining effective relationships with business partners and department teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Assist in supporting new investment, due diligence initiatives, strategic and other business decisions.
  • Ad hoc support and analysis, as required.

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree and more than ten years of experience in finance or accounting or a related area.
  • CPA a must.
  • General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles, strong analytical mindset with technical ability and excellent people skills
  • Experience developing financial reports, scenario modeling and metrics.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels. Need to be able to listen to team members, understand their goals, and provide direction and guidance.
  • Need to be able to create a productive and positive work environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization.
