- We are seeking an experienced Java Development Lead to join our team. This role is pivotal in overseeing development work and managing production support for critical Wealth Management applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, Oracle, and Unix, combined with a solid understanding of Wealth Management systems. Familiarity with Charles River is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and enhancement of Java-based applications in a Wealth Management environment.
Provide oversight and management of production support activities to ensure high availability and performance of key applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, QA, and infrastructure teams, to deliver high-quality solutions.
Develop and enforce best practices for coding, testing, and deployment to ensure software quality and compliance.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application performance, reliability, and security.
Mentor and guide junior team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Required Qualifications:
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Java, Oracle, and Unix is required.
Wealth Management Experience: Background in Wealth Management applications and processes is essential.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead development projects and manage production support operations.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
Nice to Have: Familiarity with Charles River or similar Wealth Management platforms.
Location: Must be based in Toronto or willing to relocate.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in software development, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
