Job Summary
The Junior Analyst will support financial analysis for capital projects and investments. This role involves gathering and interpreting financial data, assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide insights for decision-making. The Junior Analyst regularly communicates with third parties (primarily lenders) and uses their understanding of deal requirements to complete a first ‘screen' before passing it through to the appropriate next level (i.e., Director of Capital Solutions or Client Solutions).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Capital Solutions department of York Realty
- Gather documents for commercial lending purposes, acquisitions, or dispositions
- Populate financial models by collecting and transferring data sources as assigned
- Document loan or collateral changes in internal databases
- Attend building/site tours as needed
- Monitor loan covenants and report to leadership on performance
- Assist with property valuation and building proformas
- Collaborate with internal and external partners, as applicable, to update loan marketing material
- File and maintain documents according to set criteria
- Under the supervision of the Director, Capital Solutions: communicate with third-party report vendors, external parties (insurance, lenders, etc.), and other duties as assigned
What you bring to York:
- Post-secondary education in commerce or a related field, or experience commensurate with the same
- Basic understanding of finance
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Ability to forge, grow, and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups
- Ability to remain objective and maintain a factual perspective when dealing with questions and inquiries
- Sense of urgency and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy with attention to detail
- Developed sense of curiosity, and strong research capabilities
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to learn new concepts and apply attained knowledge quickly
