We are currently looking for a Treasury Analyst for our Corporate Finance team. The Treasury Analyst is a key finance role and will be responsible for monitoring cash flow in companies, managing bank accounts, integrating acquisitions, maintaining treasury related financial records, executing domestic and foreign exchange transactions, providing financial advice to the company, working with entities to manage their intercompany accounts, and monitoring foreign currency exposure. The role will interact internally with operations finance & accounting teams as well as senior management. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, team player who is process driven, highly detail oriented, and strives for continuous improvement. This position reports to the Manager, Treasury & Corporate Structuring and supports the continued growth of the Company. This is a hybrid role with 2 days in our Markham office.
Responsibilities:
- Work with local Finance groups to implement corporate treasury strategies such as consolidated banking, preferred F/X partners, cash consolidation and interest management, etc.
- Provide reporting on cash positions, debt and interest schedules.
- Analyze bank fees and recommend cost savings as well as act as administrator for bank accounts
- Be the expert on foreign exchange transactions and their recording in G/L
- Develop and maintain reference material on appropriate policies and procedures regarding F/X and settlement of intercompany balances in the Companies various foreign currencies to maximize book gains on settlement
- Work with entities throughout the world to ensure timely settlement of intercompany balances and minimizing foreign currency exposure
- Assist senior management with quarterly cash flow forecasts and projections
- Assist with integration of new acquisition's banking and treasury functions
- Assist in data accumulation for tax return submission
- Assist with annual insurance renewals and certificate management
- Prepare and complete other treasury related projects and tasks that may be required from time-to-time
- This role may evolve as the company grows and individuals need to be accustomed to changes within job responsibilities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Completion or substantial progress towards a recognized Treasury or Accounting Designation, e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), or Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) preferred, but strong business experience or accounting undergrad can be substituted
- 3-5 years work experience in a Treasury/accounting role with multi-currency, multi-entity environment
- Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles
- Ability to work with senior management and influence decision making
- Advanced excel skills and/or experience working with ERP systems to produce meaningful reporting.
- Excellent analytical ability is necessary to effectively analyze large amounts of financial data.
- Experience with Great Plains and Prophix an asset
- Attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness
- Strong business partnering and interpersonal skills
- Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Ability to develop cross functional relationships with departments across time zones and languages
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to negotiate, problem solve and make decisions.
- Proven ability to multi-task, handle high volumes and prioritize workload
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and reporting data
- Ability to be flexible with respect to the mix of workload
- Legally eligible to work in the country with sponsorship
