Compensation range: $28-$33 Hourly CAD

The Compensation Range includes the span between the minimum and maximum base salary. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum base salary and can be considered for an employee with full job knowledge, required qualifications and experience for the position.

Organizational Status
We are currently looking forward to welcoming a Part/Full-time IBM Instructor. You will be part of our fantastic team and report directly to the Program Manager and Director of Academics. You'll be part of a team of experienced and passionate people who believe in continuous development and work hard behind the scenes to help its students thrive in Canada.

Job responsibilities:

  • Create a teaching-learning environment for the IBM Program.
  • Develop and deliver an effective learning experience using pre-authorized or CICCC-available course resources.
  • Incorporate various teaching/learning methods to meet course objectives.
  • Demonstrate Understanding and adhere to all PTIB requirements and college academic policies.
  • Manage lesson planning, assignments, class, and overall course assessment while ensuring students are aware of course objectives and CICCC's expectations.
  • Motivate and guide class discussions, encouraging debate and feedback from students.
  • Challenge ideas, fostering students' skills and knowledge in critical and rational thinking.
  • Motivate students through tutoring and academic counselling, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
  • Provide academic support to students inside and outside of the classroom (regularly scheduled office hours, email, group study sessions, etc.).
  • Prepare and submit to the Program Manager all relevant data concerning students on a regular basis.
  • Attend and actively participate in department and faculty meetings, in-service training sessions, and relevant programs as required by the Program Manager and Academic Head.
  • Conduct further research in their specific field for continuous improvement and development to meet the changing needs of the market.
  • Engage students with a diverse and systematic plan of lectures, presentations, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory workshops, seminars, case studies, and independent or group projects.
  • Create and develop teaching materials, including audio-visual and web-related materials, where appropriate.
  • Plan, prepare, administer, and grade papers, tests, exams, and other assessments to monitor and evaluate students' progress.
  • Maintain effective control and administration of classroom facilities, equipment, materials, software, and tools.
  • Adhere to CICCC's policies and procedures, including being available to students and maintaining the confidentiality of students and information.
  • The instructor must create a positive learning environment by consistently encouraging, motivating, and guiding students to accomplish educational and personal goals, helping them further achieve their professional goals.
  • Perform other additional administrative duties related to the course requirements.

Supervision ReceivedWorks independently and in collaboration with the Program Manager and Director of Academics. The performance is evaluated for efficiency, effectiveness, achievement of objectives, and quality of work.

Supervision Given None, however, may provide general training/explain the work sequences to new team members.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in international business, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Substantial industry experience in international business management, global trade, or cross-border operations.
  • Previous teaching or training experience in international business or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of global economic trends, geopolitical factors, and cultural nuances affecting international business operations.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students, cultivate a collaborative learning environment, and promote cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.
  • Comprehensive skills in common workplace software, including online teaching techniques like Zoom and Slack.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary research team.
