The Construction Accounting Clerk will play a crucial role in managing financial processes related to our construction division. The ideal candidate will ensure that invoicing, collections, and project records are handled efficiently and accurately, contributing to the overall success of our operations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Process invoices in alignment with contract specifications and work in progress.
- Complete statutory declaration documents as required.
- Manage collections on customer accounts specific to construction projects.
- Review customer credit status prior to project mobilization to assess risk.
- Set up and maintain accurate project records within our financial systems.
- Assist in the completion of pre-qualification documents for contractors.
- Register for state contractors' licenses as required.
- Analyze cash flow on a per-project basis to ensure financial health.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of information across systems including NetSuite, Procore, and Airtable.
- Conduct various analyses on projects such as comparing budgeted vs. actual costs and field production metrics.
- Review construction contracts to verify payment terms and insurance/bonding requirements.
- Process insurance and bonding requests in coordination with the insurance provider.
- Manage asset purchases, disposals, and depreciation to maintain an accurate asset listing.
- Perform month-end account reconciliations, including holdback receivable, Work in Progress (WIP), and fixed assets.
- Present critical financial information during bi-weekly construction meetings to keep stakeholders informed.
- Support the operations team with various tasks as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a financial role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong proficiency in financial software, especially NetSuite, Procore, and Airtable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and formulas.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of construction contracts and related financial practices will be considered as an asset.

Other Information
- This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm)and is an in-person work arrangement.
- This position is open to candidates located in our Ile De Chênes, MB office.
- Wage will depend on the qualifications of the candidate.
